Rode Deadcat for NTG-2

Hey guys... I just purchased a Rode NTG-2 shotgun microphone for on-camera use with the SM-3 shockmount and am interested in picking up their "Deadcat" wind muff for the mic.

Does the deadcat windmuff fit over the shotgun on the SM-3 shockmount when mounted on to the camera's accessory shoe (GL2)??? I thought I would ask this simple question before I go making any purchases. Thanks for your help!

I've got the NTG 1 which is shorter and I use the K-Tek fuzzy with the SM-3 and it works. It is a little tight as far as getting in the shockmount but your mike is longer than mine so the SM-3 will be fine. I got the K-Tek in the "short" sizing. This should work for you because the additional lenght is in the back where the battery is added but you might want to check the medium or call K-tek and ask them. They are very helpful.

Yup, it all fits together nicely. I've got the same setup and it works fine until the wind really picks up. If you're going to be shooting in really windy conditions, then you'll need a zeppelin.
 
Thanks so much guys.... I place my order and look forward to putting on the deadcat. Finally I get to sport some fur!
