Rocky Balboa trailer

Cliffhanger
The only two that were watchable in your list. And they're guilty pleasures.

Incidentally; Harrison Ford (MT childhood actor idol dude) hasnt exactly been a role lately.
Acting talent-wise I have a hard time seeing how you can mention Stallone in the same post as Ford. Ford is much better suited to a wider variety of roles.

My .02 :)

That was a ridiculously dramatic 30 seconds of walking.

what are you saying machinist?

Stallone cant direct?

LOL.

I dont know what the hell he's trying to do in that clip.

I'm gonna show my stripes a little too much with this one.

I loved the clip. Granted, my first thought was "so the whole movie's in slow motion?" But it's just a promo thing. Anyway, from that 30 second clip I got Rocky, I got Paulie, and I got that underdog feeling that all Rocky films have possessed. From just the facial expressions on Stallone you can tell that Rocky doesn't want to be there. He doesn't want to lace the gloves up again. He doubts himself. And metephorically Rocky has always been that part of us that doubt ourselves.

If I'm ever having a bad day I can put in any Rocky film and feel better. So far Rocky Balboa looks to be carrying on that tradition and I can't wait for the film.

Have to admire the guy for working hard on his best known films in front and behind the camera(favorite image is him in Rambo attire bent over a desk on set working on the script for Rambo 3--which did have some damn funny lines). I dont think a Rocky 6 is a good idea--but then neither is an Indiana Jones 4--and at least the former is more of a dynamic character than one composited from stock heroes in 1940s serials.

Looking forward to Rocky Balboa... at least it looks better than Superman Returns.

I agree. Stallone is too much underrated. There's mutch more terrible crap out there than any of the Rocky movies... Just look at Jean Claude Van Damme's flicks after Kickboxer (bloodsport, Kickboxer and the other one where he street fights is okay).

Rocky movies have a lot more depth than the normal "one man army"action movies... Rocky's character certainly is more developed than James Bond, but I don't see anyone complaining about that neverending franchise (maybe because of the fresh girls? :) )

I'll be there on opening day for Rocky's return.

I'm more intrigued to see Rambo 4 get made.

The plot was more interesting to me than what I've heard concerning Rocky Balboa.

Undoubtedly i'll still go see it cause in the end the kid in me still loves Balboa.

UUUMMMM...(thinking, thinking, thinking) Hmmm...
NOPE. Not gonna do it. Just cant think of any reason to see this movie. Especially after Rockies 4 and 5.

Definetly going to see it! Looks great and in the spirit of the old ones!

The Rocky movie that I least liked was Rocky 3, Mr. T was terrible in that movie. Rocky 4 was Cold war propaganda, but had the best fight scenes.. Rock 5 had a good "realistic" story, compared to the over the top 3 and 4.

This looks like something in the vein of Rocky 5 (with the dramatic build up of 4). Looking real good! When is it coming out?

Am I the only one that thinks the writing (from the lines in both trailers) were pretty good?

I'm surely anticipating it a lot more than some of this other crap coming out... like fast and the furious or "little man".

Uh, did anyone notice that the name of the BLACK boxer was Mason Dixon? (the Mason-Dixon line separated slave states from non-slave states prior to the civil war). Couple this with the fact that boxing has a STRONG history of racial tension (Jack Johnson and the great white hope) and this seems very bizarre. Add to the mix a real distaste for spoiled athletes behaving badly in our current culture, many of which are minorities.

Bizarre decision at best. My paranoid, conspiratorial mind wonders if there isn't some "coded" marketing going on, at least at the subconsious level. Hey, where's my tinfoil hat?! They're stealing my thoughts again...

:costumed-smiley-047 I pity the fool who don't use my emoticon when talkin' 'bout Rocky!

The trailer says his name is "Mason 'the line' Dixon" so i tiink its intentional.
No ka-winky-dink there lol.

See, I told you! I take off my aluminum foil hat for just a few minutes and BAM! They steal my thoughts and even put them in their movie.

Repeat mantra: it's only make believe, reality isn't real; it's only make believe, reality isn't real; it's only...
