Robert DeNiro's The Good Shepherd

[ExtremeSleuth]

Matt Damon, Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci. Robert DeNiro directing, nice. What is it with Damon and CIA movies? Also, not only is Damon and Alec Baldwin in this movie, they costar in The Departed as well.

Comeback for Baldwin maybe???

Even more interesting is that De Niro was supposed to play Costello in The Departed but dropped out because of time restraints of The Good Shepherd.

DiCaprio was supposed to play the Damon character in TGS, but dropped out to do The Departed.

But Matt managed to be in both films, in heavy roles.

And there is Baldwin....

The female overly imaginative side of my brain wonders if there was some sort of casting/power struggle between De Niro and Scorcese when locking deals on these two projects.

Wow, this looks like a MUST SEE. It was written by Eric Roth who has quite a resume of his own!
