Hey guys!
I am a Advanced Tactical Driving instructor with an anti terrorism school and we would like to produce a number of video clips so that we can train and test our trainees in techniques of Road Hazard Perception.
In essence, I want to install 1-2 cameras in a vehicle (driver/passenger POV) and start to drive at different rates of speed and in different driving environments.
At the end, an edited version of the video clips will be presented in our training facility (on a big screen or a projector) to either individual or a group of trainees to asses their perception and/or use them as a training method in hazard perception and identification, where we will provide the trainee with a set of instructions telling him "what to look for" and use the video as practice in these procedures.
Now the question for you guy is this; For the purposes above mentioned and in order to provide a most accurate (closest) viewing perspective and experience to the reality:
1) Onboard cameras (driver/passenger POV)
What would be the best focal distance and viewing angle for the cameras?
2) What would be the ideal viewing distance and hight
3) What would be the ideal diagonal of the picture
4) Is the use of HD warranted for this procedure?
5) Any hardware (small/compact cameras) recommendations?
If anyone is up for a barter, video production for advanced driving training please let me know.
Thank you anticipated for your time and effort
