Riser for quick release plate?

Trying to attach my small camera to a pan tilt head with a quick release plate but the problem is there isn't clearance for the side knob on the quick release to turn as it hits the pan tilt head platform. So I am looking for something to elevate the quick release plate a little bit. Ideas?
Manfrotto_577_577_Rapid_Connect_Adapter_1464885402000_241139.jpg Here is the type of quick release system I'm probably going to use. See the tightener on the side? There isn't room for it to turn.

1) You know the lever ratchets? You might not need the space.

2) Consider Arca swiss with a flip lever.. you dont need the space.. Im swapping to arca fake as they are now affordable on amazon.

3) its not hard to get some 2.5 in * 1/2 in aluminum bar and make a spacer if you can access a pillar drill or small millling machine.

I use this plate with the Zacuto Baseplate (non pro so no fore and aft adjustment) and VCT14 Sony....I needed both extra height to get a FF in under my big Nikon AF-S ED 2.8s (the 80-200 is both physically big and heavy) and the attachement to the Zacuto Baseplate is really a one time thing (awkward to understate)...this allows me to move the rig fore and aft sufficiently to balance between light and heavy lenses and adds the bit of extra height I need!...the only negative is that the tightening know on the Manfrotto gets "trapped" under everything so full rotations are not possible but it is the springloaded ratchet type knob so it works just fine and the price was great....whatever your choice, buy as lung a lquickrelease plate as possible if you're going to use it for a riser....

Edit: lol....on closer inspection it appears that you are talking about the identical quick release

Thanks everyone. I ordered a manfrotto. The ratcheting tightener will work fine. ;) Only question now is if it will give me enough weight / height to balance the small light camera on the pan tilt head
