Ripple

Okay, forgive me if this has been asked before (which I'm sure it has). I did a search and didn't see the answer.

I work primarily in Premiere and when I move something on the timeline by holding down the CTRL key, I can change the position of a clip and any holes are filled in...

For instance, if I want to move the first clip to the end of the timeline and I want the blank space automatically closed, how do I do this?

Also, I moved my first clip to the end of the sequence and had my cursor where the first clip used to be. I pressed "f" and was expecting the space to be closed but it created a blank space the same size as my timeline...what gives...is there a simple ripple delete command that can close spaces at any time?

You need to turn ripple edit on. It the button about center of the buttons on the tool bar. Hold the cursor over the buttons and you'll get tool tips to tell you what each is. Ripple can be turned on or off. The hot key I believe is [CTRL] L to toggle this.
