RIP Ray Bradbury

I always loved Fahrenheit 451.

In a strange coincidence, here's something of his I just read 5 days ago, which was just published a week ago.
I'm not sure when he wrote it, but it's not Sci-Fi, but rather a short reminiscence essay of his childhood, listening to adults tell stories on summer nights, his imagination running wild.
And the inspiration he got from the Tarzan and John Carter of Mars books, and their influence on The Martian Chronicles:

We'll miss you Ray! Here's to The Godfather of Sci-Fi!

He'll definitely be missed, a real master of words who had an eloquent style that I think stood out a little from his peers. And yes, I realize that's saying a great deal considering who his peers were. But that's how great Ray was. He'll definitely be missed.

Fahrenheit 451 was one of the first books I remember resonating with me and really making me think about things beyond the story I was reading. Very influential book to me.

"He was my muse for the better part of my sci-fi career.
He lives on through his legion of fans. In the world of science fiction and fantasy and imagination, he is immortal."

-Steven Spielberg

His screenplay of the 1956 movie MOBY DICK was a classic.

Many people had initially thought director John Huston foolish for hiring Bradbury to write the script. However, Huston knew better.
