RIP Ralph McQuarrie

[Batutta]

A legend has passed. So much of the DNA of Star Wars came from him and his paintbrush.

Wow, that sucks. I first became aware of "Star Wars" when I saw some McQuarrie concept art published in "Star Log" Magazine, just before the film premiered. That prompted me to go the first showing on the day it opened in my hometown. I was fourth in line. His work was outstanding.

A sad day indeed. His vision had an impact on virtually everyone on the planet.

Yeah, that's too bad. Great artist.

Sad news. I know I still have a few ESB trading cards in my attic with his "conception" artwork.

Those pictures featured in the link are awesome.
