RIP Miramax

It's my understanding that Bob and Harvey bought the Miramax name back from Disney (if the deal is not closed yet it should be in a few days).

So The Weinstein Co. (TWC) will be back to it's original name Miramax. It's just the name they bought back, no properties.
 
Ok, the deal is not done and Summit just made an offer (tonight) to buy the Miramax library & name, Harvey & Bob do have a hedge fund that will give them the money to buy the library and name for a capped amount. Summit has more cash than it knows what to do with from the Twighlight franchise so they will probably end up as the final owners of the name and library. Man, I bet Bob and Harvey are pissed, another couple days and they would have had the name back. To be continued.
 
Batutta, I think you mean Sling Blade.
Swing Blade was a short parodying Swingers and Sling Blade.

But I could be wrong, maybe it is what you meant...
 
11 buyers have made bids, I think 9 of them don't want TWC to have the Miramax name.
