I was looking at pictures of the ongoing flooding and I saw the breaking news banner make note of this horrible event. He was a genius and his death is a great loss to the world of comedy and the world of life. I saw him on HBO while staying in a hotel in March, knocked my socks off. RIP, buddy.
Seriously, this is saddening news. I am still shocked even hours after hearing about it. Thanks George, for all the laughs, and for inspiring me to think more about the world. RIP
R.I.P., George. No one could make you laugh at bitter truths of taboo topics like Mr. Carlin. A wonderful writer and the king of stand-up.
"If you're going to insist on making movies based on crappy, old television shows, then you have to give everyone in the Cineplex a remote so we can see what's playing on the other screens. Let's remember the reason something was a television show in the first place is that the idea wasn't good enough to be a movie."
Oh, man. George was my comedy hero. I've never laughed so hard in my life. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to see him perform in a room that was about the size of my front yard. I'll never forget you, George.
If I recall from his work correctly, he wanted his body to be dropped from a helicopter on the mayor's lawn and the dogs kept away from it. It's possible he also wanted to be blown up.
