Ring light test - clip

Re: Ring light test - clip

removing the http:// did the trick for the download on a mac using safari.

Great color on your brother's face. But am I to understand this was shot with a PD170 and not a DVX-100? If so, what the hell you posting that here for!?  ;D

But seriously, was there color correction done to it? Or was that all in camera?

Re: Ring light test - clip

The ring light is a circular light that you fix around the lens of the camera. The result is a beatiful no-shadow lit face. Look at his eyes and you´ll see the reflection of the ring light.

Wireless Transmitter Frequencies. John wants to know if you used a wireless mic.  :P

Not!  ;D

I think he was expressing astonishment in the fact you posted something shot with the PD-170.  As in what the f@çk?   ;)

Re: Ring light test - clip

looks wonderfull! ringlights are so cool.

did you make that "ringlight"? i made one once out of one of those magnifying lamps that has a fluorescent tube around it.

Re: Ring light test - clip

drummerboy, thanks.

terry, thanks for your explanation. I thought he was talkin´ about the Wireless Transmitter Frequencies!

john hudson, don´t be such a purist. the issue here is the ring light, not the camera´s brand. if you have a problem with the ol´pd170, you can solve this problem by sending me a brand new dvx100a. then I´ll throw away this sony trash, I promise!  ;D

Rich, the light I used is this fluorescent tube you´re talking about. Maybe not the same size, but the same result. It´s a very simple and cheap one. And thanks for the comments! Your videos are an inspiration!

LOL

It means "What the F*ck"

Meaning; great ring light footage but had to be moved from the DVX Screen Grabs section since it was a PD170.

Re: Ring light test - clip

this footage looks incredible. i was wondering how you made it look like it was 8mm (rounded corners, high contrast)? keep up the good work.
