I'm in need of a couple of composite effects shots for my film. The place I'm thinking of taking it said, "Sure, bring in the 2 shots." I was worried about quality loss, so I'm bringing the shots in as a Quicktime uncompressed movie on a firewire harddrive. "I don't want to suffer any degradation to the image," I said. "Don't worry about it," they said, " other than a small conversion to RGB, you don't have to worry about anything." Should I be worried?

The issue to watch is how many generations. If you take a DV clip, composite it, save it. Re-open, do color correction and then resave. Every resave with a manipulation will cause it to be recompressed. Either keep quality at a higher level than final until the last stage or do all the manipulation in one pass.
