RGB Problem

I've had this problem before and I thought I fixed it, but...

When the RGB is set above 235, I get noise when playing back footage on a DVD player once it's been burned. I lowered the RGB and have settled for gray text. On some DVD players, this is fine but on my main DVD player hooked up to my television, the text is still white and I still get noise. Does anyone know how to correct this?

Thanks,

Jeff

This is actually a problem with the television, not the DVD player. The NTSC standard does not support the full color range as DV due to limitations in the early TV analog circuits.

Try applying the Broadcast Colors filter as a master video filter using the Conservative - 7.5 Setup preset. This will reduce your colors to make them NTSC compilant.

He is correct it will chop your IRE down to 100 and 7.5 and reduce that buzzing or static noise you hear! There is also a 100 and 0 setting. Gives you deeper blacks instead of 7.5 grey.

Open your vector scopes to see what parts of your video are out of compliance.
