RGB channel transition thingy?

I just saw this music video ..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBex--aJmSU

and wonder how you would do that flashy RGB channel separation that is used sometimes as a transition and sometimes when the beat hits. The best example of it is right in the first verse at 30 seconds.

Also if anyone knows... how did they have the guy sing will the action was moving forward, then reverse the clip and still have the mouth sync moving forward?

Thanks for any help.

I have twitch but for some reason it wont work on my computer. Running a Macbook Pro with After Effects CS3. I dont know why it wont.

its a pain in the arse to do. Duplicate your layer twice so you now have three copies. Then apply the channel mixer plug-in to each layer.
For one layer have the Red-Red in the channel mixer plugin set to 100 and the rest set to 0. Do the same with the other two layers except choose green and blue.
Then set the blend mode of the top two layers to "Screen". Now the image should look like how it did with no effects.
Then keyframe or set a random wiggle on the positions for each layer and hey presto.
