Rewiring a COS11 lav to G2

I'm looking to upgrade the stock lav for my G2.

I've been watching COS11's on eBay going between $120 and $150. This is significantly cheaper than buying new. However, these have an XLR connector on them and obviously need to be rewired for use with the G2.

Two questions:

Is there an adapter available to convert the wiring or at the very least a wiring diagram, so I can attach an appropriate G2 plug?

Also, I've noticed that there is a battery module available to provide phantom power to the lav. When is this required? Currently my SD302 mixer provides phantom power to my mics.

Thanks, Oleg. I figured you may have done this a few times.

As for a power supply, does the lav require a dedicated source (such as a battery) or can it draw phantom power via the transmitter/mixer?
 
I dont get it.

COS-11sBP to connect with Sennheiser G2, I made a short cable with female XLR to connect with the Sanken power supply and a 1/8" mini-jack male for the G2.

Do I need to solder - (negative/white) with the ground together on the XLR side AND on the 1/8" mini-jack?

the schem i gave you is for pigtail
cut the wire on the power suply , leave about 10 cm
then place the jack on the wire and place femail on the wire that still atached to power suoply
very eacy :-)
 
Great way! I did not see that. ( need a soundman for that)

If I cut the wire....and put mini-jack on wire (male) and female on the powersupply do I also need to combine ground with the negative -? On both sides? Is that not a problem with the 3m wire?

I want to use the COS-11s BP for

1: with phantom power from mixer
2. with G2 transceiver
3. with small handycam with 1/8"mic in

for (3) I need the powersupply and a XLR --> minijack plug, that's why I made a short cable with female XLR to connect with the Sanken powersupply and a 1/8" mini-jack male for handycam. Can I also use that cable for the G2?

Did you ever connect up the Cos 11 BP with the 1/8 inch mic in ?

I am considering buying the Cos 11 BP for use with a Sony MiniDisc, and am guessing it needs a similar cable to the one you mentioned.

Any advice appreciated.

I am looking for a wired lavalier to record poetry capturing the natural voice in very quiet environment, wired direct to Minidisc.

I read in another topic that someone had difficulties getting the levels high enough from the Cos 11 BP, and had to rack up the recording levels to full which introduced noise. Any comments?
