rewind effect

Hey All,

I was wondering how i achieve an old-school vcr type rewind effect when i am playing video reverse speed ( i.e. lines in the video)

render out clip, record to VCR, do effect of rewind and record back into camera/deck and then record into premiere - that seems like the most realistic effect.

Otherwise, it could be done with a series of layers of static animation - after effects would be the easiest program to use to do this.

use noise and grain and mask on the film layer which should be backwords and add some fast mo.
