Continuing the glut of bad films I've seen recently, I recently rented this movie. There will be some spoilers (of the initial premise) below so don't read if you don't want to know.
Here is the premise. Tell me if this makes any sense to you. A guy has been in jail for seven years. He gets out of jail and decides to take on his old nemesis in a poker game. He cleans him out and wins like 250,000 dollars or something. He then has some sort of epileptic fit or something and finds out he has a rare blood disease where he will die in 3 days. On top of that, he is almost killed in a shootout (from the guy who he cleaned out - Ray Liotta).
He is saved in that shootout by two guys (Sopranos dude and Andre 3000). They bring him in and tell him this. They will protect him from the people trying to kill him, but in return, they want all his money. In oder to live, he agrees to the terms.

What???
Does this make ANY sense at all??? He's got 3 days to live. WHY IS HE PAYING FOR PROTECTION??? Who cares?? He's going to be dead in 3 days! It's just so bizarre. I don't know who wrote this but I suspect it was Ritchie, maybe during a few spare weekends. There is so little thought put into this premise, it's sad. Lock-Stock was a very solid flick. It sucks that he's never come close to it since.
I will say that Ritchie really knows how to shoot a movie. All of his shots are amazing and I love how he uses music to supplement his beautiful cinematography. But as far as story goes, this guy's got his work cut out for him.
