Review: Small HD, DP4 EVF

lucky that you got a working one. I received my unit and the EVF so blurry that i can't see anything. They exchanged the EVF and within 3 weeks, the DP4 itself stop working. The power is death. Even though the unit still within the 30 days, they don't do the advance replacement, make me send the unit back for repair. For sure, i'll not buy anything from smallHD in the future again.
 
i communicate with them through the support desk via their website. Tiffany is the one that handle my support ticket.

I'm having to send mine back because it somehow got burned. I have no idea how, as I use the Zacuto chamois with a piece of foam glued to the cap that comes with it as a light plug.

Do you know what this new eyecup will look like? I asked Tiffany if it's going to be anything like a film camera's optical VF with a pressure-sensitive eyecup, requiring your eye to be firmly against it to force open the VF shutter and prevent light leak. She didn't let on at all :P

Also, a SmallHD rep told me the DP4 will receive the new focus assist upgrade the DP6 got in a couple months.

Thanks for the nice review. Just today I received mine and am quite excited to dig in. One thing that I did notice the first time looking through the EVF is the barrel distortion. I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, and it isn't noted in this review either. It isn't horrible but as I say its noticable.

Any thoughts on this?
