Revenge of the Sith...

How can you take revenge against someone who has never wronged you?

The Sith are inherently evil, and they do evil things. Working with the dark side of the Force. They are thwarted by the Jedi, the Jedi are simply defending "good" against evil. Therefore they never wronged the Sith.

Anyone with me on this? I don't think this title makes sense. Looks like they jumped the gun on using the word revenge again.

Re: Revenge of the Sith...

It’s a perspective thing I suppose. In the eyes of the Sith, the rebellion represents a serious impedance in their belief system and progress of their own agenda so good or bad, they’re going to lash out.

It's kinda like when a witness to a crime is knocked off, from our perspective the witness was doing a service for good but from the defendants eyes the witness represents a serious threat.

Personally I think Lucas lost it years ago and should have let someone else right the first 3 not to mention the casting was whacked  ;D. I mean Hayden Christensen as soon-to-be Darth Vader, yeah I'm terrified. He's character Anakin Skywalker is about as complicated as 1rst grade math.

Re: Revenge of the Sith...

I prefer "He's a 10 piece jig-saw puzzle, and I'm a 5 year old, had him figured out in five minutes."

I can see what your saying, but I still don't see that as being 'wronged' necesarily. Lucas did lose it, I agree.

Re: Revenge of the Sith...

The way things have gone with the first two, it's probably pure marketing. It never hurts to have one of humans most raw emotions (revenge/redemption) in your title ;)

I just watched the first two (and I’ll watch the third) out of some odd feeling of obligation since I was so into the first 3 (err, I mean last 3, episode 4, 5, 6, whatever). After episode one however, I'm a wait-for-the-DVD Star Wars guy now ;D

Good call.

Right now I'm the waiting-for-15-disc-lord-of-the-rings-box-set. After that I'll move on to waiting for star wars. (Of course, while all this is going on, I'm still waiting for the Simpsons to release the seasons at a quicker pace. Seinfeld too. And 4th season of Futurama, even though Europe already has it.)

DAMN IT! I spend too much on dvd's:P

Re: Revenge of the Sith...

Er... if you were a Sith, I would imagine that having your entire order exterminated by the Jedi might be cause for revenge, right?

Plus, we don't know how "wronged" they'll be in this third picture. Apparently Anakin's going to get into a fight with Obi-Wan and fall into a pit of lava and half his body burned off, so that might make you want to have a bit of revenge...

Re: Revenge of the Sith...

Whoa! Spoilers!

I thought there were ever only two Sith at any given time -- the Master and the Apprentice. How "wronged" could their order be?

Told me this, Yoda did.

Re: Revenge of the Sith...

It was my understanding that there used to be a whole mess o' Sith, and that they were disorganized and just random chaos practitioners, and the Jedi came and wiped 'em out, and then after that there was some lead Sith guy who started the one & one thing.

But my 'Star Wars' lore is a bit rusty...

Re: Revenge of the Sith...

Lending to my theory that the Empire were actually the good guys. The Sith are just hangin' out, not much more than small-time troublemakers, and the "peace-loving" Jedi swoop in and bust up their 'hoods just because?

Re: Revenge of the Sith...

LOL ;D Maybe Lucas’s subconscious was trying to break through and go “Dude!? ???”…

Re: Revenge of the Sith...

You could make the statement "This is ****" using just those letters! Or, "****, this is." if you're Yoda.

Re: Revenge of the Sith...

Ok, whats up with the language in Ep 1 and 2 compared to 4, 5, 6? It seems like jevenile name calling. I guess it goes back to Jar-Jar being the anti-christ. I couldn't stand his "we-sa gonna be in big doo-doo". WTF? Does Lucas need to cater to the 4 year olds buying toys this much? I'd rather listen to Leia calling Han a nerf-herder sooner than toilet humor.

Ok, that post was really disorganized, but hopefully you'll follow what I'm saying. It just seems dumbed down.
