im wondering if anybody has any tips on how to make some 60's-70's looking stuff, video overlay effects, text effects, transitions,

make it funky!

Re: retro looks

There's several third party plugins that can give some really cool funky 60/70's looks.

Final Effects has this funky looking kaladoscope effect. There's some others too but I don't remember them off the top of my head. What kind of look are you specifically looking for?

Re: retro looks

nothing really too particular, maybe the big blocky graphics, outlines, i just wanted to hear what people had done with this theme. I'm making a 4 min peice for the golden state warriors showcasing their retro nights, where they wear their retro jerseys, and the whole night is themed.
i might just try some amber tones over clips, maybe some cheapo mirror effects. gotta go retro.

Doing some good color correction will totally give you a good starting point for the retro look. Try pumping up your greens particularly in the mids, and yes boosting the ambers/reds primarily in your shadows. I set up a vegas CC preset with this 70's look, if anyone know how to share Vegas presets I'd gladly send it your way.

Re: retro looks

i found something that worked, i just made a splochy tie died colored mess in photoshop then i used a kalidescope filter and moved it around and whatnot to create some trippy stuff. it was good.
