Restaurants in DC

I am going to Washington DC in a few weeks. I am not big into the tourist trap restaurants. Anyone know where is a good place to grab a bit to eat? It can be any kind of food, but reasonable prices. Where do the locals go, especially near the smithsonian?

Thanks for any "feed"back

Not a whole lot near the Smithsonian other than street vendors. Do yourself a favor and catch a cab or Metro up to 19th and L st. and hit Luigi's Italian Restaurant. The Hours and Contact Info tab has a map with Metro routes. You can take the blue or orange line from Smithsonian up to Farragut West station. Not far to walk--only a couple of blocks. One of the few old time DC restaurants. I am not a big pizza fan but in my opinion they make amazing pizza. They are in a league by themselves. Having tried it, you will remember it. Prices have always been reasonable.

Chinatown is a 15min walk north of the Mall if it's not snowing. H St. between 5th & 7th NW. My fave cheap eats spot is FULL KEE on H btw 5th & 6th. Great roast duck, chicken, pork bbq, noodles, soup etc. extensive menu, something for everyone.
Definitely a joint for locals, looks like a dive and I think it's cash only. If you walk up the 7th St. corridor you'll pass by more touristy expensive fare (Legal Seafoods, McCormacks,) around Verizon Center.

If you are in this area, also check out Fados on 7th, great irish food, music and beer!
