Resources for learning 24P?

Can anybody recommend a good resource for learning about 24p production? I've been searching the internet and finding contradicting info. I have an animated project coming up that we'd like to create in HD. I've never looked into it before but if I can save rendering time by doing 24 frames instead of 60 then that would be great. I'm looking for info on how it compares to interlaced formats, how you edit and monitor it, & distribution options. I'm also looking for information on production workflows since we'll be rendering out the animation, editing the piece, compostiting in effects, doing the sound track, and creating the standard def DVD/Windows Media HD in different apps.
 
I've done searches on many websites. The return on searching "24P" is enormous. I'm looking for something that I can get alot of info in one place and organized, a book maybe? or article or white paper? so that I can sit down and and figuring this out.
