So I'm trying to start a project in Premiere with non-DV resolution settings, but even under the custom settings window, the resolution is grayed out and stuck on default...
you have to be editing in VFW(video for windows).. not DV as your codec or it will stick you with DV resolution and anything dropped into the timeline will change to DV resolution.
so set your editing mode to VFW and you can set any res you want
