Hey guys, how do i resiz still in photoshop so it can fit in premier pro time line with 720 by 480. I do a lot photo montage and some of the pictures are to large for premier pro. Thx i advance.
I would simply right click on the top bar of the picture window, go to resize and then enter 720 as the width. Unfortunately, the pixels from your pics camera are going to be square, and will not fit properly into a .9 aspect ratio frame. You are going to lose picture info to the left and right of frame, as they will be out of frame. In order to make it fit fully horizontally, you will end up having the pic too small vertically, and will have black bars on top and bottom.
So it's up to you how you want to approach it. I would think Premiere would resize the photos by itself, or there is an option in there to do so.
But it wont fit perfectly, you won't get the whole picture to occupy the whole frame. You have to decide if you want have the pic full there horizontally, or vertically. You won't get both.
You can TEDIOUSLY resize every photo in PP using the effects> scale> and/or position choices....OR you can resize one image (On the timeline) to fill the 720 by 480 formatt in a "generic" manner that will work for most of your still images then click (highlight) the image on the timeline then choose from edit :copy>...then highlight the next image on timeline and choose> paste attributes.
I recently used the "Make slideshow" software in Photoshop Elements but the imported .wmv (movie) file images are 680 x 480 which leaves a black bar on each side. (But saves tons of time if you're mass producing a project)
