Resetting Capture Scratch

Hey guys, i was trying to resolve a problem with FCP so i deleted my preferences, the only problem i have now i that FCP needs to reset my scratch disks. Is there a way to reset your render files to the same folder, capture scratch to the same folder, ETC without FCP creating new folders inside of those folders? Hopefully that all makes sense. Thanks!
 
Yes - point the reset capture scratch dialog to the root folder rather than opening the final cut pro documents folder.
