Rescue Me

Funny, sometimes childishly so. Dramatic, even heroic at times, Rescue Me is the show no one could picture Denis Leary starring in, and certainly not creating (with Peter Tolan).

Anyone else notice some serious blown-out elements in scenes shot in the firehouse's garage? I couldn't obtain any grabs but I noticed them in the second episode of this (the fifth) season.

That minor blemish aside, the show is well-written with tight dialogue and imaginative story arcs.

you mean when they are shooting toward the open garage door? I'm pretty sure they did it for an artistic reason, not sure what it is, but it isn't a shotty production.

I love the show

Yeah, I actually just watched that episode a little earlier today and noticed how blown out that shot was. My guess is, they shot that little scene on a whim not thinking they would use that story line or need that scene. It was kinda a sloppy story line to tell you the truth, didn't really do much for the episode or Sheila's character.

I think you hit the nail on the head.

Just heard there will be a sixth (and most likely, final) season.

Michael J. Fox has been excellent in the show and was well-cast.

Callie Thorne (Sheila), with whom I've never really been impressed, gave an emotionally-nuanced monologue in the last episode.

Sheila's character is pretty disappointing in these later seasons opposed to seasons 1 and 2. She's become kind of a joke, whereas she used to be a genuinely tragic figure. But in those early seasons, she showed herself to be flat out amazing as a performer.

This season is getting me back. I felt like there was a while there where they lost some of the realism the show had, and replaced it with more "bits." But they seem to be largely back on track now. I like this show.

Yes, but what bits they were.

This show is not without flaws; it has stumbled at times. However, it has also taken many chances with controversial topics.

This show is ruling this season.

Really nice 5 min monologue from Shiela last ep, and a great fight scene between Lou and Tommy. Performances carrying this thing to the goal-line.
