Request to re-open a closed thread

My thread "Can you turn a prime lens into a zoom lens" has gone from 1500 views ( when it was still open ) to nearly 4000 views. Criticisms aside, it's safe to say that people are interested or at least curious about this thread.
For the benefit of those who came in late to the discussion, I think it would be good to re-open the thread, or at least allow me to edit my posts. The links to the video tests I posted have died and are no longer valid. I could easily update them by editing my posts. I have nothing to gain by re-opening that thread but many others could benefit. I know people did not appreciate the simplicity of my method, but the fact is it works on any SLR prime lens as well as Cinema lenses, and people want to see that with their own eyes. And please next time don't assume that because you didn't like a particular post it should be hidden from the thread, let people read the whole thread and make up their own minds.
 
Whatever the reason was, the thread is approaching 4000 views. And all the vzaar links to the video tests have died. Without those links, the thread makes no sense. Let people see for themselves and make up their own minds.
 
I'd say the same thing if I hadn't seen the video links posted. Yes, it's old technology. But the tests were convincing enough to leave more than a few people scratching their heads. A few thousand of them actually. :cool: And that , for me, was worth the price of admission.

Imo, the thread had it's 15min of fame which was too long in most people's opinion. Unless there was a relevant reason such as additional technical info, I fail to see the purpose of reviving it. Perhaps the continued clicks are because of the semi misleading title?
 
I would be happy to help establish new links. I understand having broken links is bad for threads; even locked ones.

im sure we (I) can arrange a time to do that, at least.

It's a step backward in quality and ease of use. 35mm adapters were a stop-gap to photo lens cameras. Let them rest in peace. Good riddance. Using those things was sucky.
 
Jarek, your signature banner features a Brevis35 Music Video! ( a fine clip too I must say ) By the way, the adapter used in the thread in question was the Redrock M3, supposedly the last and best ever built.
 
Good news people, the broken links will be fixed soon. Sorry to disappoint whoever is trying to neg all my posts lately :cool:
