My thread "Can you turn a prime lens into a zoom lens" has gone from 1500 views ( when it was still open ) to nearly 4000 views. Criticisms aside, it's safe to say that people are interested or at least curious about this thread.
For the benefit of those who came in late to the discussion, I think it would be good to re-open the thread, or at least allow me to edit my posts. The links to the video tests I posted have died and are no longer valid. I could easily update them by editing my posts. I have nothing to gain by re-opening that thread but many others could benefit. I know people did not appreciate the simplicity of my method, but the fact is it works on any SLR prime lens as well as Cinema lenses, and people want to see that with their own eyes. And please next time don't assume that because you didn't like a particular post it should be hidden from the thread, let people read the whole thread and make up their own minds.
