i have been sending some threads about catDV not extracting metadata after import from fcp-logged hdv clips.

just wanted to share that according to the people at catDV, matadata from hdv cannot be extracted. too bad! so i have to downconvert to dv in the camera when logging, which means that i have to capture and log 2 times if i want to edit in hdv AND organize my video by recorded date and time... that sucks!!!

and i was also informed that fcp removes the metadata when capture and logging hdv!

bad news (rediculous actually), but it explains my problem...

this is deffinentaly something for fcp WISHLIST...

I've been screaming for this in FCP since v1.25. Sorry about the HD and CatDV. Didn't know there was an issue with that. I only use DV with it.
