This, I have found, to be one of the best fight trailers I have seen.

I am interested in replicating the effect of the text where it slides across the screen from both directions to meet each other, then fuses and shakes. But I am having trouble producing anything better than a very sad, mechanical version in LiveType.

Maybe someone better with LiveType might have a couple pointers...

Thanks

You could do those titles in FCP. You don't need Live Type. Just play around with your motion keyframes and check the motion blur checkbox. They look to only be a couple of frames long for each move. Also you could keyframe the scale and position up and down just a touch every other frame to get that slight wobble and out of focus look after you fly your title into place. For example after your title is set in frame, set a scale keyframe for your set title scale, move forward two frames change the scale to say 105 or so, move forward two more frames and change the scale to 95 or so, move forward two more frames and set the scale to about 107. Repeat this process for as long as you need the title on screen. Play around with the values and I would also apply this concept maybe to the rotation, position and maybe add some color correction filter that has a brightness value that you could do this to as well.
Good Luck

Doing this in Motion would probably be faster and easier than using LiveType or FCP. Motion has a ton of tweakable text behaviors.
