Hi, i searched for a similiar post on here but couldnt find it anywhere. I need to replace the mounting hole on my dvx-100a. I got the parts now i just need to open up the camera and replace it. I heard its easy to do, can someone in here explain how to replace it? Or maybe there's a site out there that you can link me to? That would be awesome, thanks for the help.

Yeah, the base plate, sorry didn't know it was called the base plate. Just looked at the manual and it said it was called the "Tripod Mounting Hole".

Actually, my base plate is fine for now, it's not broken or anything. It was just the actual tripod 'screw' that was broken. So i bought the part for that and just wanted to know how to open up the base plate and replace the broken tripod 'screw' with the new one.

Oh sorry i misunderstood sorry but im not sure if i can help but i do rember when i replaced my base plate i had to take off the old one and the screw mount for the tripod was exposed but i cant rember if it was exposed enough to replace it or do you have dig deeper to get to it.

I'm about to open up the base plate to replace the tripod mounting piece. But i have no idea what kind of screw i need to open up the base plate. Can someone help me out, i'm about to start filming in about an hour. So some quick help would be awesome. Thanks!

are you talking about the small screws that hold the baseplate? if so those are tiny lil things thats all i know. sorry

Thanks for trying to help out bilgami. I had to go to a hardware store and buy another screw driver that fits with the camera's screws. I was able to replace the tripod mounting hole just fine :) Was pretty easy. Although, i did take out 2 screws, but when i tried putting it back in, they wouldnt screw to anything so...no idea what happened there. But other than that it works fine.

thats great ive had to make that trip to the hardware store myself due to screw issues its not fun happy shooting but seriously look into that base plate you can bypass the old tripod mounting hole that came with the cam and you wont regret the switch.
