Replacing a Clip (different codec)

I want to figure out how to replace a clip on my timeline. Also, I want to replace an MXF with a clip rendered out of After Effects but I can't render MXF out of AE. Is that a problem? How do I do this? I have a lot of work done that I would lose if I can't swap the files.

In the "Project Media" tab, Right-click on the file you wish to replace and select "Replace", this will open a file window. Under "Files of Type", change it to "All Files" or "All Media Files" then go find your new file. Open it up and you're done. I do this all the time.

David, I never looked under AVI, but as I mentioned in an other thread I don't have a Raylight option under Export. Do I need to do something to get the coded into AE?

This is what I have under the AVI compression types:

Cinepack
DV - PAL
DV/DVCPRO - NTSC
DVCPRO - PAL
None

John, Thanks! Would I then be able to render the full take to some other lossless format and replace the clip in the timeline doing that?

Well AVI uncompressed worked perfectly. BUT... I just realized that the darn shot is in 59.94!!! Noooo!!! :(

That had never happened to me... till now.

Perhaps time to do some additional work to it in AE? Can I fix it in AE?
