Replacement for Tram TR-50

That shoot was scratched at the last minute and ended up on another job where I just boomed the shot. Since then I've used the 801 on two jobs. It really does sound like the TR-50. Since I no longer have a working TR-50 I can't directly compare the sound but I have ordered another 801 as well as 2 802s.
Glad it worked out well for you!
Best,
Bernie

You may want to consider the new Rode Lalalier. I just did a shootout video between the TR50, the ME-2, the Sanken COS11D and the Rode Lav. At 250.00 the Rode Lav sounded very open and natural. Listen for yourself:

Here's a link to the Rode Lav. I did this video for DVeStore. http://www.dvestore.com/products/RODE-Lavalier-Mic.html

Hey where did the "V" button go for Vimeo video embedding?

hey chad, your videos are great. thanks for taking your time to do that. Greatly appreciated!

Thanks sonidista! I plan on making a video using Rode's new PinMic too. It's got the came capsule as the Lav, but it pins on the outside of your clothes, with the cable hidden underneath. It sounds pretty good so far. But I just got a flu-like thing going on, so probably no video production for me this weekend. Too bad because I wanted to have some fun and use the lav/pinmic to mic up little instruments I have around and bust out a little jam.

Hello Chadfish,
Sorry you're not feeling well. I also thought your shoot out was very well done. I am really wanting to hear the pin mic as I work on a number of reality type shows and I'm hoping it will help with noisy wardrobe situations. I need for them to come out with a Lectro adaptor so it will work with my 211 systems. Glad you're enjoying the Tascam recorder. It looks like reasonable option for multitrack in the field without spending too much money. Feel better soon!
Best,
Bernie

Bernie, I think they are still working on a Lectro adapter. I asked them for one and they said "Not yet", so I guess that means there will eventually be one.

I think they are actually using the PinMic here:
