Repairing .mov clips

On a recent gig we discovered that daisy chaining a FW800 CF card reader through an external hard drive occassionally yeilded .mov files that can't be read. We're talking 6 files out of 450.

I believe the data is there as some files are 17GB in size. I hope it's just header data that needs to be restored. What utilities can I use to try to restore these clips?

Thanks,

My first thought would be the typical file repair software that would be used for any Windows file that had become damaged. (Assuming you're on a Windows platform.) I'm not sure you would need software specifically for .MOV files. Have you tried that?

Grauonline restored the video, however the audio drifts over time.
It's in synch at the head (as evidenced by a slate) but is off in the middle of the take and way off by the end.
Any thoughts?
