I'm not sure exactly where this goes, but i guess it'll be moved if necessary.

I've been around these boards for some time, but as i don't have a camera i've just been trying to learn as much as i can from all you guys...thanks! you guys are awesome! well, i'm about to start on my first short and i need to rent the video equipment. most places require some kind of rental insurance. do you guys know what exactly they need? I'm a student not living with parents so I don't have any insurance besides health.

Thanks in advance! i'm hoping to get things figured out about this today or tomorrow since i need to try and start the shoot this weekend.

Re: rent insurance

The place you rent from will generally also supply the insurance as a requirement for the rental.
It probably won't be cheap.

Re: rent insurance

HI anand, there are rental houses that suply insurance for an additional 10% charge on top of the rental. We don't do that, but we accept insurance from companies that specialize in production insurance. We also allow you to use your credit card as a means of deposit instead of insurance. There are ways to get around insurance headaches. :)

Re: rent insurance

Rush,

Are you saying you guys rent equipment? If so, how can I find out rates and terms?

Is there a DVXUser discount?  ;D

Thanks,
Larry
