Rendering too much?

Hi all

I need to create a few rendered copies of my rough cut in different stages, just to show people. I'm doing it in WMV format. I don't care about the quality of the rendered file itself. I'm not outputting it to DVD or anything, or to After Effects.

Now, this is a stupid beginner's question, but does all that rendering for "work copies" can degrade the quality of the actual edited file in Vegas, or is it rendered without changing a pixel in the source footage?

Thank you.

like William said, it won't effect anything, its two completely different files. Granted you don't mistakenly save the new file to the same directory and give it the same name/extension as one of your source files. In which case I'm sure Vegas or whatever NLE you use will return an error message or warning.
