Rendering to send out

I'm editing on Vegas Pro 12. I have a scene that I need to send to a friend of mine who is going to add special effect to it like changing the background, adding a swarm of insects etc.... He wanted me to send him the edit version of the footage and not the unedited version. What would be the best render file I should send him that would work well for what he is trying to do? Thanks

I've been very happy with the MXF format. I've done unscientific tests and found that it stands up quite well to going down a number of generations.
