Hello All, I capture with a Sony FX1, edit in Vegas 8 and the rendered .avi looks great. But when I make and play the DVD, I see these little horizontal lines in the motion areas of the video. Is there something I'm not doing right?
Thanks for any help...-Tony
I render an .avi at 1080-60i or 720-30p. I use the Cineform codec.
I see the horizontal ines in the motion areas of the video in every dvd player hooked up to any TV. If I watch the .avi on a computer, I do not see the interlace problem.
If it is an interlace problem, how can I avoid it when I record a dvd?
Using DVD Architect, I choose the 720x480 widescreen format. And I still see the horizontals lines in the motions areas of the video when I play the dvd on a tv screen. I didn't notice any option to use 24p in DVD Architect. Do I have any other playback options other than screen format?
I'm wondering, if DVD Architect uses the .avi I render in Vegas, it seems I need to deinterlace the video as I render my .avi, before I go to DVD Architect, is this correct?
No, you just edit your video, and then you export using the video to the DVDA template, you don't need to export in AVI to do DVD stuff.
After you have burned the DVD, you should not be able to see any interlacing lines, because either the DVD or the TV takes care of de-interlacing. Make sure your DVD is set to 480p and not 480i btw, most new DVD players can do that.
