Rendering question?

Does anyone know, how to make after effects not use %100 of the cpu when it renders? Everytime i render a large movie, it takes my computer to the blue screen of death.

Sounds like something wrong with your computer.

the layouts are a little different between versions, but if you go to preferences there is usually a memory and multiprocessing tab, check there... while you can allow AE to use most of your RAM for rendering, running 100% of the RAM might make the system crash. If you a multicore computer trim back the allocation for AE too. You might need to do it a few times to find a good balance.

If it's still crashing, you might need to do a clean install of the program, something is messed up.

...and finally, if you have open gl on to use the graphics card for processing too, it might be a graphics card issue.
