Rendering Pro Res

Robbie Comeau

Como's back. back again
I'm editing in HDV...with graphics imported from After Effects, and some special effects using final cut's filters.

Should I be editing in a "ProRes 422" timeline, or the basic "Same as Sequence Codec"

I'm going to be making the project a Quicktime Movie after, and printing to tape...

When I place that file into a timeline to print to tape, should that be in ProRes or Same as Sequence Codec? Or does it depend on what I edit the timeline in, in the first place?

Thanks

Answer is either.
If you capture the HDV footage as HDV codec, you can still goto sequence settings and change rendering to proress. This way you avoid sequence confirmation before rendering, and keep the project size relatively smaller.
If space isnt issue I suggest capturing the footage as proress, and edit in proress sequence.
