Rendering Options for Max Time

Is there any way, when rendering, to get an actual 120 mins on a single layer DVD? So far, when I render approx 90 mins, it comes out at about 4.5 gigs, just under the limit for a normal DVD. Under Render As, I'm using MainConcept m-peg2, with the template as DVD Architect NTSC videostream. I see in the "Custom" option a way to change the bps from 8,000,000. If I lower this, how much does it affect the quality? There's also the option to change the video quality from High (31) all the way to low. How much flexibility is there in order to squeeze more video onto the DVD?

I usually just render it out from Vegas and don't worry about the size. I let DA handle making it fit on the disk. Try DA's "fit to disc" switch.

Um, I don't think I'd do that. Making it fit to disc requires re-rendering if I'm not mistaken, so the final is one generation older than it needs to be.

Yeah, if you're going to do that, at least render it out as DV or whatever the original format was, and then let DVDA do the MPEG-2 compression.

It's true that FAT32 partitioning on a hard disk will only let you render 4 gig files to that disk, but doesn't have anything to do with fitting video on a DVD -- it's the single-layer DVD capacity which is the issue.
