Rendering leading to bad quality?

Hello,
I'm finding that after I render a project into WMV9 it almost looks compressed. I see some other people's work streamed through the internet that looks better. Why is this? Is it a setting that I am missing.

:)

WM9 is a very compressed format, however, there are different settings that you can use to make it look not so compressed. The main things that you want to look at are, "data rate" and "frame" size. The higher the data rate, the larger the file, and the better looking it will be. The same goes for frame size. Now if you have a high data rate and a small frame size, it will look good, but be small. HOwever, if you have a low data rate and large frame size, it will look bad. There are also presets that can be used, up to 1280x720 HD, so you can definatly make it look good.

More seconds per keyframe = lower quality.

Smaller frame size (e.g., 320x240) = higher quality with smaller file size. You can often save a great deal here, because you're making it 1/4 of full size, but if the quality is higher, if someone sets their player to 200% or to fullscreen, it can look almost as good as a full-size frame.

For web use, you can also lower the audio sample rate. Do you need stereo? If not, make it mono.

Thanks alot guys. I'll do some tests and see if I can't get a better quality render! Tim
