rendering in hd, which codec to output to?

I shot some stuff today and Im trying to render in 720P. When I render in MOV the computer has a hard time playing the video. When I go to WMV the image gets a really bright contrast.

What is the best codec to render to for both computer playback and later on burning to Blu-ray?

Probably MPEG-4/H.264/AVC.
