Rendering from Vegas Pro 9

I shot a film that is 90 minutes. During editing the film I broke it up in six sections giving me six Vegas files. This way if I wanted to work on one certain scene all I had to do is go to that Vegas file and pull that scene up and work on it. I figured this would be best then having one file with all the cutting moving clips around etc.... you know how the time line gets when you move one clip etc...

Anyway what I want to do now is make a video file out of each of the six Vegas file and put it all on one time line this way I can make my DVD from it. So what is the best way to render the footage before moving it onto a final timeline. The plan is when I open up the final timeline there will be six blocks of footage and I won't have to worry about anything getting out of wack and from there I hopefully will make my DVD. I'm on Vegas Pro 9 - Will I need to upgrade or am I okay where I am?

So long as you render each subproject at the quality you want for the final DVD, there shouldn't be a problem then joining all six rendered files in one megaproject and creating a DVD.

All you need to do is drag the 6 Vegas projects on to one timeline. No need to do intermediate renders or any other hassles. Also, you can open the individual section's timelines in a new Vegas instance from the master timeline for last minute fine tuning as well.

Subhadip - not sure what you mean by dragging the projects? When I try and do that, only part of the project comes and I have to readjust the remaining pieces - sound track, audio track, back ground noise etc. It is almost like having to re-edit the whole scene over again
