Rendering Files saving on my Macintosh HD

I set my scratch disk to my external HD, but for some reason all the render files are saving on my internal and eating up lots of space. I don't have much room left on my internal and I've never really had this problem occur before.

Anyone ever run into a similar problem? Any solutions? Basically, I'm just trying to force Final Cut to save the render files on my external rather than my internal.

Using Final Cut 6.
 
Make sure you've set all types of renders to the external in your System Settings. If that's not happening, trash your FCP prefs.
