Rendering a quality video in Vegas

i recently edited a short film. It was shot on a panasonic AG-DVC20 (does not have 24P, not as good as the other Prosumer cams) So far, i've rendered it on WMV (Windows Media Video) and it looks pretty good. My question is, how qwll will it look on a flat screen television and what is the best way to burn it onto a DVD (Specific explanation please) I've also been rendering my videos with 24f although they're shot 30p. Please tell me the best way to get quality videos on my DVD that will looks good on televisions. Thanks!

Theres no specific manner of rendering a dvd for television or plasma. An NTSC Dvd is 720x480 (or 720x576 if PAL). Your best choice would be to choose render then from the drop down list fo render formats choose one of the DVD Architect templates. Those are most compatible and will provide the best quality for dvd buring of your movies. Maybe within dvd arch you might want to raise the bit rate a bit to ensure maximum quality. But dont exceed 9.8 Mbps or the dvd wont play on some players.

I assume you mean you've been rendering 24p, because "24f" is a Canon term that doesn't have anything to do with render formats.

But did you mean "30p"? I know that the DVC20 doesn't have a 30p mode. In the specs, don't see an option for a "Cine" mode, the simulated 30p (or "Frame" mode) that the DVC30 has -- so if it doesn't have either of these options, you're shooting straight 60i.

But if it DOES have a "cine" option, and you are shooting in the simulated mode that gets recorded as 30p, then you do not want to be converting to 24p, especially for DVD or anything other than a small WMV. The footage simply will not have enough motion samples in it to make a good conversion, so you'll end up with choppy motion and ghosting around moving objects.
