Rendering 24p from the DVX

Apologies for yet another question about the DVX and 24p, but I'm confused on one point in particular with respect to rendering the final product.

I know that when you shoot in 24p mode on the DVX, it's actually recorded at 29.97 onto DV tape with pulldown flags. I know that capturing into Vegas will result in Vegas detecting and removing the pulldown automatically. Finally, I know that if I change the project properties to 24p, I will be editing in 24p and everything I pull into the timeline will be treated as such.

However, what do I need to do when I render from my 24p timeline for Youtube or DVD? Do I need to render as 23.97 or 29.97? Does it matter? Will something like Youtube convert whatever I do to 29.97 no matter what form I submit it in?

I wouldn't say that "everything will be treated" as 24p on a 24p timeline. Straight 24p footage or footage with 24p flags will be; everything else will be resampled.

Rendering to either YouTube or DVD, you'd use 23.976. YouTube accepts a variety of Web-based formats, and all of them are capable of 23.976.

For DVD, you'd use the DVD Architect 24p DVD template under MPEG-2. It's already optimized; there's nothing you have to change, especially concerning the frame rate.
