Render to HD then what?...

I tried to figure things out on my own. I shot a test video on my DVX, color graded, and then uprezzed in InstantHD... So now that it's in HD format, where can I take it from there? I tried burning to a DVD, even though I knew it wasn't an HD DVD, and that of course didn't work. I then tried to record it to tape, and that also didn't work. So I have this HD video on my PC, and I can't go anywhere with it. What are my options from this point?

Well, since I wrote this thread, I think that I knew I was in over my head. Otherwise, I wouldn't have asked. Thanks for the link.

There are few reasons to "uprez" an SD project without a clear path to an HD deliver platform. You could consider getting a DVD authoring application and appropriate hardware to create either an HD-DVD or BluRay disc. You could also export this project to an HD compatible carrier (DVC-Pro , Digi Beta, etc.) but without knowing what you want to accomplish, it is a bit difficult to provide you with any guidance.

Render to HD and then...leave it on your computer until prices come down on Blu-Ray and HD-DVD and the software becomes available. I always have an HD version of whatever I do but that's only to watch it for the higher quality.

The only viable HD distribution medium right now is to render as a WMV9-HD DVD, which can be played on just about any computer out there. Or render for internet distribution (look at the Katrina thread for an example of an HD file that is being distributed by internet download; it's a gigabyte for 13 minutes so it takes a while!)
