What is your average render time for rendering a media file you imported into your timeline? For example, about a 100mb MOV file.

Depends on how you got that .mov file.
I can create .mov files that have NO render times... I'm thinking this is related to your OTHER post?
Make sure you are encoding your files at DV/NTSC 48/16 (or PAL) and you should be good to go.
