Did a quick test of rendering the same project files with the same corrections.
The winners where,
1. Final Cut Pro X
2. DaVinci Resolve 12
3. Adobe Premiere Pro CC

Computer was a base model Macbook Pro.

My experience exactly - Gawd is Premiere slow!

I have quit rendering to compressed codecs with Premiere and instead just render out a DNxHD 10-bit master since that seems to take about 1/10th the time of MP4 or MPEG2 h.264 renders. Then I use MeGUI to transcode the DNxHD to h.264 when I need it since it's better and faster.

Sounds like a smart way. Will try it out.
