Render lines very confused

Hi Guys..

Could do with some help on this confusing one please.

Footage captured on HVX-200 (25 progressive) format,

Rate 25fps
Size 1140 x 1080
DVC PRO HD 1080i50
Pixel aspect ratio HD (1440 x 1080)
Field dominance (odd)

I have copied these settings into the sequence settings.
The question is about split screens, I'll try and be as succinct as possible.
In the past when I have done a four screen split screen using SD footage I have shrunk the size of each clip in basic motion (to about 45), then moved them into the four corners of the viewer creating a grid of four.
With the render lines in GREEN appearing, meaning that I can still play the film but it's preview. However when I do exactly the same thing with the HD footage (see above) RED render lines appear which means I cannot preview it. Four screen image below.

I'm rather confused because I'm doing exactly the same thing as I did with SD footage in basic motion than I am with this HD footage, but these RED render lines makes it impossible to work with because each time I want to see how the cuts work I have a 2 hour render.

Any thoughts and help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you for your time and help.

Hi Steev thanks for the super fast reply...

Are you saying change the video/audio sequence settings?
The only unlimited thing I could find was in the main settings and it read,

Offline RT HD (photo jpeg) -23

had various other ones up to 30

Tried this and didn't work?
Am i Doing something wrong?

Thanks

Hi steve...

Yup found that thank you never used this before
however I'm getting dropped frames now.
The render line goes green or orange depending upon the various options I tick or not tick.

It says dropped frames try,

increasing speed of disk (I'm using external firewire 400 drive)
decreasing number of RT layers (how do you do that)
limiting RT bandwidth in user preference (how do you do that)

I have also made sure,

unlimted RT - on
playback quality - low
Playback frame rate - quarter
scrub high quality - off

Thank you Steve

Yea no problem it seems like u got it down better than I do now. I just use safe rt whn i can and unlimited when I need to. then jus render things after there set in place and I ignore when it says dropped frames.

To decrease layers they mean the green buttons on the left next to each layer. It's like a mute for video. Click it off u don't view that layer.
Haha I'm so not film lingo with it

cool..thanks for you help steev

Ok the best I have it is, 4 screens lasting 2.5 minutes
the green preview line appears which is fine plays a bit but really gets laggy, pretty unplayable really.
to render that it would take me 1 hour eeeekkk.

Is there any thing else I can try please?

Thank you
